Museum of Eastern Shore Life
July 7th, 2007 at 11:22 am by Alan in The LandBuilding on the dreams of a group from the local farming community, including farmer, sea captain, and state senator Robert P. Dean, the Museum of Eastern Shore Life was brought to reality in 1995. A small group of volunteers dedicated themselves to perserving the heritage of Queen Anne’s County and the Eastern Shore. That heritage would come to include farmers, watermen, buisness and professional people, and the “average” citizen of the County. Today, eight years after its inception, the Museum is experiencing a period of growth and change. One building has turned into three with the possibility of a fourth in our future.
Display items now number in the thousands and with this comes an increased demand for us to display and preserve these items rather than simply be a repository. Visit with us and make a new memory or jog an old one. If the idea of perserving the past appeals to you, then the Museum needs you as a volunteer worker, a docent, or a Board Member. Memberships start as low as $15 for an individual.
