Dorchester County, Maryland Man Facing Four Counts Of Attempted Murder

Church Creek, Maryland – On Monday, July 15, 2019, deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office responded to 3041 Lakesville Road in Church Creek, Maryland. for a reported assault.

Upon arrival, it was learned that 23-year-old Joseph Danny Baker 2nd had become involved in an argument with a male victim that had arrived at his residence to retrieve a lawnmower, according to police.

Officials said the argument turned into a physical altercation and Baker went inside of the residence and retrieved a shotgun.

Baker then fired the shotgun in the air near the victim and three other people who retreated to their vehicle in an effort to leave the residence, according to police. When the vehicle attempted to drive away Baker fired the weapon a second time striking the vehicle on the passenger side while the four victims were inside, added officials.

Baker was charged with 4 counts of First Degree Assault, 4 counts of Second Degree Assault, 4 counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder, 4 counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, 4 counts of Wearing and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon with The Intent to do Harm, 4 counts of Reckless Endangerment and Malicious Destruction of Property over $500.00. He was ordered held without Bond.
